Google buy YouTube
Posted by: Marketing Guy Date posted: October 9th, 2006 Published in: GoogleThe rumours were right - Google have just announced the acquisition of YouTube for $1.65 billion in stock. Full press release here. Not too bad for a company setup 18 months ago! 
It seems YouTube will continue to operate independently “to preserve its successful brand and passionate community”. I would assume though that there will be some kind of integration into Google Video as well.
