Oxfam Unwrapped - Xmas gift idea
Posted by: Marketing Guy Date posted: December 18th, 2006 Published in: Advertising, GeneralBeing a bit of a slacker and leaving things to the last minute, I just saw a TV ad for Oxfam Unwrapped. It’s a pretty cool idea - it bundles donations into “gift packages” that range from £1 to £500+ - you simply buy the package, the money is donated to the cause and the person who you buy the gift for recieves an e-card and a fridge magnet or something or other in a few days.
Examples of gifts you can get:
- HIV and AIDS awareness event (£15)
- Train a health worker (£38)
- 80 mango saplings (£160)
- Safe water for 1000 people (£720)
- Create a whole classroom (£1700)
Pretty nice gift for Xmas - unusual and goes to a good cause!
The TV ad for the site was pretty cool as well. Can’t find it on Google video or Youtube, but it’s basically a montage of really damn ugly Alpacas with the Baby Bird song, “You’re Gorgeouos” playing. Clever, funny and gets the message over.
