Few changes to Fused Nation
Posted by: Marketing Guy Date posted: January 5th, 2007 Published in: About Fused NationWell, I quit smoking a few days ago so I’ve had plenty of time on my hands while I’ve been climbing the walls! ;) I finally got round to working out how to make a few changes to the blog templates that I’ve been wanting to do for a while:
1. Added in profile links. For example this is mine. No huge reason for doing this other than I wanted to - another template I used on another blog has this feature and I thought it was pretty cool. Still need to mess around with it a little though.
Main reason I did this is that I’m thinking of asking a few more folks to write here, so it’s good to have unique profiles for each author. Anyone is interested BTW, let me know.
2. Removed the blog roll from every page. I never intended to have it site wide, but didn’t really know how to remove it (and couldn’t find any tutorials on the subject). Finally worked out I needed to create new include files and define the functions elsewhere. Seems simple, but I’m not very tech. :P Blog roll only appears on homepage + archive / category pages now. Content pages only have internal links. Yeh, yeh I admit it, I want to horde PR! ROFL!
3. Changed other parts of sidebar content. Nothing major, just to reduce mass duplication over the site.
I’ve never really been worried about SEO for this site - tbh most traffic comes from links or various brand searches. But I thought it was about time to tweak things a little.
