Forum spammer – follow up

Had an email from the guy who spammed one of my forums a few months ago.  Interestingly he denied any SEO-focused attempt to spam and suggested that it was a piece of ill-conceived market research.

Some people seriously don’t have a clue.  Where in the world of logic does it seem like a good idea to try and blag links from people by suggesting that they are in error?  Do people actually fall for that?

Some people really annoy me and those people are usually spammers.  I’m not talking about autogenerated sites / keyword stuffing / whatever – I can ignore that (and am at times secretly impressed + jealous of the technical skills of the people behind it).
